Langley United FC Men’s Soccer Merge with Langley FC
I’m pleased to announce that Langley United FC is merging with the Langley FC soccer club into one larger club to better serve our needs and the needs of all soccer athletes in Langley – male and female, youth and adult.
Joining with Langley FC not only allows male players, including our sons, to move seamlessly from youth to men’s soccer within one club, it also provides the opportunity for an entire Langley family to have dad, mom, daughter and son all proudly wear the same colors and belong to the same club conveniently located in their community.
Other benefits include the ability to help us attract more players to our teams, to be involved in more tournaments, gain more field allotments, be part of new facilities development (like a new turf field), and more.
The vote from the LUFC executive was 100% unanimously in favor of the merger, with no opposition. While we will retain certain governance and decision-making powers over our men’s teams, we will take on the Langley FC name and colours……which means new, clean kits for every club member.
The merging of the two clubs also follows the Canadian Soccer Association club charter of offering “high quality, life-long soccer experiences” for all male and female players of all ages and abilities in one soccer club. Langley FC is the only soccer club in Langley to follow the CSA charter, and we can be proud to now be part of this.
Overall this is a great evolution for our club and I know you join me in this sentiment.
